Santiago de Compostela, the capital and main city of Galicia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. Known for its imposing Cathedral and for being the destination of the Camino de Santiago, which attracts hundreds of thousands of pilgrims every year, this being the route oldest pilgrimage in Europe.

On the way back, a brief visit to Valença do Minho. This city, historically important due to its location on the border, also symbolizes the relationship between Portugal and Spain. The result is the Praça-Forte de Valença, a fortress, and walls used since the 13th century to defend against invasions in Northern Portugal.
