The Côa Valley Museum and Archaeological Park were created after the discovery of rock art sites in the region. A World Heritage Site since 1998, it later gave rise to a unique Museum, derived from its architecture, technology, and educational offerings, where many examples of these Paleolithic paintings and engravings can be seen, as well as contextualizing them in the history of the planet.

The location of this Museum is, in itself, privileged – it is located in Foz do Côa with the Douro River, which means that in this place 2 World Heritage Sites intersect. From this stunning view, there are unforgettable natural landscapes, extensive vineyards, and olive and almond groves, which add color to this whole panorama.

Leaving Vila Nova de Foz Côa, the route begins to the oldest demarcated wine region in the world, since 1756. With a total area of ​​more than 26 thousand hectares, the Douro Wine Region extends to Spain, crossing numerous counties and districts.
