The first stop of this tour is in Amarante, a picturesque town close to the Serra do Marão and crossed by the River Tâmega. In this city, it will be possible to visit the historic center, the medieval bridge, and the Church of São Gonçalo, one of the most important personalities in the region. There will still be time for you to enjoy one of its most famous products – convent sweets.

Leaving Amarante, arrival at Alto Douro Vinhateiro is near. This is the oldest demarcated wine region in the world, since 1756, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001. With a total area of more than 26 thousand hectares, the Douro Wine Region extends to Spain, crossing numerous municipalities and districts.

Fall in love with the mantle of vines and terraces of the landscape, built by human hands over the centuries, the water mirror and the zigzags of the Douro River, and also by the entire surrounding biosphere.
We suggest a special visit to one of the most emblematic Quintas in the region, where you can see the entire process of how Port is produced, from the vineyards to the winery, ending with a delicious tasting of various Port wines.
